Why are pianists always so worried about chromatic scale to the point that they get astonished when an instrument does not have an "easy" chromatic scale or no chormatic scale at all (I don't know for sure, but it seems the harp doesn't have a chormatic scale). They make sound like music is not possible without it for some reason...

Totally useless. WTF is half-step? Semi-tone? Why the hell there are semi-tones in the first place? Why there is no semi-whatever between E and F??? The whole thing doesn’t make any fricking sense. Why there are no H, J, or Q notes? The whole thing seems absolutely arbitrary, and nobody, including my wife who is a music teacher, can explain any of it, besides ‘it’s just so’

To identify the key with sharp(s), add a semitone to the last sharp. F# + 1 halftone gives you the G major. To identify the key with flat(s), use the flat right before the last flat and that is the name of the key. A Eb and a Bb to its left is a Bb major
